Asthma
From the disease model perspective a genetic predisposition combined with food and environmental allergies allergies is usually what makes one susceptible to asthma. There is exercised induced asthma and emotionally driven asthma as well. Regardless of the cause asthma is a serious condition and may require medical intervention in an acute attack and/or may require you to carry an inhaler to deal with acute episodes.Signs and Symptoms:
- Shortness of breath/wheezing
- excess mucus production
Lifestyle Changes:
- Reduce exposure to known triggers.
- Use an inhaler to help deal with acute asthma attacks.
- Use a good air filtration system
Dietary Changes:
- Eliminate food allergies/sensitivities
- Avoid foods with preservatives
- Reduce red meat and dairy intake
- Reduce sugars
- Reduce sodium intake
Protocols:
1. Vitamin C with Quercitin and Citrus Bioflavinoids- start with one daily.2. Eskimo Pur EFA -4 softgels daily
3. Similase- digestive enzymes help to reduce food sensitivities that contribute to asthma.
