More and more children are getting diagnosed with the disorder and the solution is not Ritalin. From the disease model perspective genetic predispositions combined environmental toxins, food allergies, nutritional deficiencies, excess neurostimulation from TV and video games and dysfunctional family life all contribute to this disorder.
Signs and Symptoms:
- Poor concentration
- Easily distractability
- Inability to sit still
- Poor performance in school academics
- Delays in or poor performance in reading
Lifestyle Changes:
Limit T.V. and video games to one hour daily.Make sure your child is getting at least 10 hours sleep
Regular outdoor physical activity is a must
Have your child tested for food allergies/sensitivities
Incorporate music lessons into your child's routines.
Get them in the habit of drinking water and snacking on fruits and vegetables.
