I was pleasantly surprised!"

Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia

Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia

From the disease model perspectice, there are multiple stresses and genetic susceptibilities that could lead someone to suffer from these debilitating conditions.

Most often I see that it was triggered from an infection -most notably -EBV ( Epstein Bar Virus), CMV (Cytolomegavirus), influenza, lymes, or from chronic toxicity -heavy metal toxicity in particular.

In certain individuals based on genetic susceptibility, nutritional deficiencies and organ system weaknesses these initial infections or toxicities cause a dysruption in a variety of cellular and immune functions ultimately leading to chronic inflammation, increased food and environmental allergies, and more critically-damage to mitochondria function. Mitochondria are the chief energy producers of your body. They produce ATP which all cells use for energy. For those who are more medically inclined, there is a shift to antibody production over cellular immunity and an imbalance in the cytokine pathway leading to increased NO ( Nitric Oxide) that is ultimately thought to damage the mitochondria.( From book, "Cellular Hypoxia and NeuroImmune Fatigue" by DavidBell M.D.)
